This is another post in our Amulets, Talismans and Charms series.
I was cleaning out a closet the other day and found this watch that belonged to Colburn’s father. It’s so pretty I put it on my desk and began to ponder the idea of amulets and talismans about time and had these rather hackneyed thoughts:
Time is fleeting.
Live in the moment (a challenge for me).
The past is prologue.
I couldn’t come up with anything profound, so I Googled quotes about time.
Then I ran across my favorite quote in three different places. It must be a coincidence except I don’t believe in those. So, finding this Emerson quote today is a Godincidence.
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
